Dr Nick Dixon, founder of The Scottish Crannog Centre was awarded the OBE at a ceremony at Buckingham Palace.
The second meeting between Prince Charles and Dr Nick Dixon took place in November, only this time The Prince was on home territory at Buckingham Palace to present Nick with his OBE (Order of the British Empire).
Prince Charles and Nick had previously met at The Scottish Crannog Centre during the Prince's visit to the unique visitor Centre in 2001. Nick reported that The Prince recalled their previous meeting.
The OBE was awarded to Nick in recognition of services to underwater archaeology, public engagement and the Scottish economy.
Nick attended the ceremony at the Palace with his wife and co-founder of the Centre, Barrie Andrian who was in the audience at the Palace for this very special occassion.
