Volunteers

The Scottish Crannog Centre and the Scottish Trust for Underwater Archaeology are both small organisations. Volunteers are welcome to help with a wide range of projects from harvesting materials and guiding visitors to carrying out archaeological fieldwork both above and below water. If you have time to spare, why not get involved? We cannot pay travel or subsistence costs, but we do provide all necessary training.

Current Volunteering Opportunities

Please help us cut hazel and weave the rods into hurdles. The woven panels serve as walls for the Crannog and provide shelter for the outer perimeter around the house. We are also looking for artistic volunteers who can help create new displays for our shore-based exhibition and outside areas. If you'd like to re-discover the ancient art of coppicing and related craft skills, or assist with environmental interpretation, please contact us now.

Other ways to help us...

All contributions, no matter how small, are welcome and put to very good use. There are various ways to show your support:
