JUNE
Saturday, 21st June 2008:
Concert in the Crannog - Celebration of the Summer Solstice
Celebrate the longest day in Scotland's most intimate musical venue. Soak up the Iron Age atmosphere around a log fire with regional artists playing Scottish music in sessions, so everyone can take turns between house and refreshment marquee. Sunday, 6th July 2008:
Bee Wisdom - Products from the Hive

Talk to a Master Bee-keeper, find out about Bronze Age bees, heavenly honey and bee-keeping secrets! Local heather honey and craft goods for sale, with free tasting for sticky fingers of all ages. Time : 11am to 4pm, Normal admissions apply.

Sat-Sunday, 19th-20th July 2008:
Go Native! Ancient Technology Fair

Hands on the Past! Demonstrations and workshops of ancient skills including cordage, flint-knapping, wood-working, metal-working, fibre-working and more! Crafts and replicas for sale. Meet Wilderness Skills instructors. 11-5pm.

AUGUST

 

Wednesday, 6th August 2008:
Iron Age Olympics
Join us for this summer's new feature. 10 events, and 4 age groups from 7+ with medals for best overall winners in each group. Competitions include archery, spear-throwing, fire-races, tug-of-war, water races, balance games and more! Tickets £5 all ages and booking is essential. Registration: 11am. Games 12-3pm. Friday, 8th August 2008:
Prehistoric Canoe-Carving
Learn about Bronze Age tools and watch adzing and axing to help build a dugout canoe. 11am - 4pm. Normal admissions apply.
 

Wednesday, 13th August 2008:
Claybake: Poking into Pots
Wrestle with local clays and get to grips with pot-making and primitive firing. Normal admissions apply.

Thursday, 21st August 2008:
Iron Age Bread & Butter
Learn about cooking in clay ovens, and spreads for your breads. Free tasting! 11am - 5pm. Normal admissions apply.
